It's not only the pixel size of the XY resolution or the number of {K} , it's a matter of the designer himself, I'm a 3D designer and I can assure you I can get the same details for my 48-micron printer "Mono X2" just as high as Sonic Phrozen mini which is 22 microns by focusing on 2 things 1- Adjust the details inside the software I'm using which is Zbrush , so If I want to have the same quality for the highest resolution printer on a 2K printer I can increase the details by 200% beyond the average and VOALA! an old Mono X is as crisp as the M7 Pro ! 2- Designers whether they design figures or minis tend to decrease the number of polygons before they send the model to the slicer so it can handle it pretty well but it costs a HUGE decrease in the details sometimes So if you can design your own stuff, a 50-micron printer is the best choice and Cheapest so you can buy a fleet of them "which I'm doing" because the human eye barely can see 150-micron with the naked eye, so imagine trying to catch 50 microns!

What was it again.. 56,50 pounds-sterling for 10 Death Korps troops from the GW site. Thats 63,50 in Euros at the current exchange rate. If I bought them from GW it would set me back = 63,500 Euro's with tax and shipping. I am willing to bet good money I could get this guys entire studio setup for less money then that. Mind you, thats the camera's, microphone's, PC, airbrush, desks, lights, paints, 3D Printers, the lot. Then print the entire army. And still have money to spare for a decent car. Now explain to me again why I should buy from GW again and not use the 3D printer.

I have owned a S4U for a few months now. I HALF agree about the clunky build plate unit, BUT once you set up an intelligent/optimal workflow with it you do not even notice or care about its more complex shapes than a typical build plate! I clean mine in equal time, and just a fraction less ease, than other 'normal build plate' printers I have. Firstly, DO NOT use the supplied bib - it is a waste of time and ADDS more cleaning/wasted time! Use a large baking tray to feed under the build plate, over the vat, to remove it all. You are going to use that tray for removal, of parts from the build plate and cleaning them etc anyway, so cleaning that tray was always going to be done anyway. No bib to clean 'extra', as well then.... Cleaning the top of the build plate, with a brush, over a tub of IPA or Metho, is no different than cleaning the top of any other build plate really.... thus the grand total effort is near dead equal to ANY other build plate! On another note - a Wash Station method of cleaning is a complete waste of time, and a poor result also!! Just use a 'large' tub, say 15litre, just half full, of IPA or metho, and either hand 'swish' parts, and/or brush them. It can all be done in a FRACTION of the time you run a wash station. Also, a wash station stirs up all the bottom dwelling gunge into a cesspool of crud to wash your items! It is exactly like you were going to take a bath yourself but did a crap in it FIRST...... lol. A tub and hand washing does NOT do that - it does not stir up prior bottom dwelling crud - thus the items come out cleaner just from that single wash process. No need for a second 'rinse' step either (but it can't hurt if you want to be "perfect"). All in all a wash station is a waste of MONEY - a notable amount of money. For pretty well ZERO gain, plus some added negatives! But your drying/curing station is a BIG POSITIVE to have and use. Though you can do it via a much cheaper set up (home made). One issue with both wash stations (even though they are useless!) and curing stations is the SIZE. You can make a home made HUGE station for a fraction of the cost of a bought one! And thus fit ALL items in, for drying and curing. As for a heater - well I have no need for one where I print. BUT I do have 'mini heaters' in most of the printers here. You can buy 'no name' mini heaters from AliExpress for about usd$25 and they work PERFECTLY FINE - as good as any manufacturers in built, or supplied heater. Mine take about 8 mins to get the enclosure to 30degC (from about an 18degC room temp). They are quite powerful and easily bring the temp up FAST. And you only need about 20degC or so for prints to be perfectly fine anyway, thus why I rarely even turn the heaters on anyway! I THOUGHT maybe running 30degC as a standard would be a good idea and outcome, but it was a zero benefit end result as it turns out - thus a 'waste' of that 8 minutes heating time anyway! Mind you I would start the heaters ahead of time anyway (but not setup to be on at all times the printer is powered on!), thus it was really a zero time waste for when I go to print. It was more a waste of ENERGY having them on, for the zero benefit in my typical room temperature case. (I have seen the Anycubic Mini Heater on sales for as low as usd$15 too!! That is a very good little heater also.) I get to use and see almost all printers (well a lot anyway) and NO OTHER comes close the the Saturn 4 Ultra as of the current models!! It is SUPER FAST, with no downsides to that. Basically just over twice the speed of all other 'fast' printers! It is a game changer - the next generation in the evolution of resin printing!!! I HIGHLY recommend it as the best resin printer to buy in 2024 (so far still) !!!! It also has ZERO issues or negatives!

Where do you get the files for the Titans?

A lot of people just don't want to mess with resin because of toxicity and long cleanup routines. A lot of people don't even have space for a reason printer - the only space I have in my apartment is right by the window where you simply can't work with resin because of UV. And no, foiling my window isn't an option :D So talking like resin is the de facto choice for miniature printers is wrong. Sure, if you have all the perfect conditions for it - it's better. Just like a private jet is by far a superior way of long distance travel. But for many people it's just not an option. 😮

what about us that don't need a heater why should i have to foot another 100 dollars when there are things like the band if you need it?

Scanned stl files that str 1:1 are harder to get and usually cost money and you need to know were to get em ;)

Print time is slower compared to Saturn 3. I have yet to find settings in the 4 that can match the use of rapid resin on the 3

I’m looking at what scale/ratio was used to get the exact measurements? Or is there an STL out there already set up? I’ve googled non stop but I’m not landing where I the right STL is for this.

I think I'm going to wait for 3D resin printing to be a bit easier before I try printing a titan. I will do it eventually but just not now.

Having just had a raft of eBay listings blanket VeRO’d by James Workshop (despite bearing little semblance, nor any mention of their IP) - risky. They seem to think they’ve got ownership of the whole wargaming category when in fact they hold very few trademarks, for names especially.

How much do you think on estimation this might cost if I got the STL files and sent it off to a professional 3D printing service how much the parts would cost? I live in a pretty small apartment so 3D printing is both a safety and space concern so I’ve been considering going the route of hiring 3D printers to save money on the hobby and also getting cool models online. Would it probably be an extra 200 dollars on the overall cost or potentially more?

Huge props for making sure these guys are all beautifully painted. It really lets you appreciate the outstanding quality of these 3d printed models compared to the official stuff, that is to say they're nearly indistinguishable from each other. Great work.

My experience with printer has been a massive amount of failures. After messing with times for resins, and running slow and fast it fails more times than not. It has really been a waste of money.

I never understand why people don't use epoxy glues on the massive models rather than super glue

Not everyone will want to use a 3D printer themselves , had mine for well over a year before I plucked up the courage to use it First prints came out great and I've now got the bug for it ! Doing an Iron Hills Dwarf army at a fraction of the cost it would be if I could buy it from FW 3 Ballaisa's and 3 Charriots for less than one Balliata cost

These are the 3 most well known factions, I'd really love to see armies for the less well known factions within the guard, like the Dragoons, or the angels!

GW and others provide a service but they want 350% mark price, because some folks will dish that out, good for them. but id still like to play so ima do what i got to do and not go broke. I simply wont enter any cash prize or high value tournys unless the organizers are fine with it. Some store simply want people to turn out and showing up is like all i got to offer sometimes haha. you could play this game with stick and rocks if your really wanted to, the models just make it waay more fun.

Im currently saving up for a printer. Looking at the results gets me eager to get one and start printing some guard models!

My only complaint with my warlord I’m printing is that it’s just got some fitment issues and I wish that the files were sliced better

Another good video - love this format when you do it. May I suggest you take a trip to Newtownards and visit the NCG shop for a choice of paints that I dont think is equaled in NI. I'm boggled each time I go there.
